Trattoria dei Cacciatori was born around 1900 and is located in Brugherio, a country very close to Milano and Monza, together with the “Garibaldi bowls club”.
In 1967 the trattoria was taken over by Valentino Mercante and his wife Maria Cocco, both with lots of experience in the restaurants. Valentino worked for twenty-four years as pastry chef in Africa in a NATO base camp, then, after some years in Lybia, came back in Italy and began to work at Biffi Scala, an important restaurant in Milan.
Together with Maria, his wife, he took over the Circolo San Bartolomeo, made up of both Trattoria dei Cacciatori and the “Garibaldi bowls club” with 4 bocce courts.
In 1992 the bowls club was closed down, while in 1996 the Trattoria dei Cacciatori was completely renovated: the old wooden front gate, the ceiling with wooden beams and the arches with red bricks were reconditioned.
During years, after studying at the catering school in Milan, but most of all, after learning all secrets and comprehending the passion for the real home-made cuisine by their relatives, also the four children of Valentino and Maria took part a the business: Elda, Rino, Carla and Artemia.
So, today, the tradition of Mercante family continues and you an taste food of the traditional cooking of Lombardia and Veneto.
For lunch Trattoria dei Cacciatori offers a fixed price menu to choose among several dishes of the day; for dinner are proposed different fixed price menu.
All dishes are prepared taking care of ingredients and respecting the real home-made cuisine.
Today Trattoria dei Cacciatori have 125/130 seats in the 3 dining rooms all fitted with air conditioned:
- a dining room with 20 seats
- a dining room with 35 seats
- a veranda with 75 seats with the view on the internal courtyard used also as car park.
